PTA

Welcome to Edith Weston Academy PTA (Parent and Teacher Association).

What is a Parent and Teacher Association?

Most schools have a Parent and Teacher Association, which is an organisation of parents, staff and associated people such as grandparents etc. Its role is to encourage closer links between home and school. PTA's are best known for their fundraising work, but they have a useful social function too. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.

Any member of our school community can be part of our PTA and we welcome all new members.

We are very fortunate at Edith Weston Academy to have a strong sense of community and support which means we are able to raise funds for our children. The PTA works hard to raise funding to support the children's learning and improve their environment by providing 'extras' that may not already come from the schools main income. This is often 'fun things' that make learning more interesting, or providing funding towards external costs such as trips.

The PTA committee decide how to spend the funds raised.
